Generative artificial intelligence has emerged as a transformative technology that is fundamentally redefining contemporary business strategy. This systematic review examines how generative AI is impacting business model innovation, strategic decision-making, organizational transformation, and the creation of sustainable competitive advantages in diverse business contexts. A comprehensive search was conducted in indexed academic databases (Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight) between 2024 and 2026, identifying 18 empirical and review studies that met rigorous inclusion criteria. The findings reveal that generative AI acts as a catalyst for business innovation, mediating effects between organizational capabilities and business performance, although its impact is moderated by contextual factors such as industry competition, board size, and resource availability. This review contributes to the theoretical understanding of the strategic role of generative AI and provides practical implications for business leaders in emerging and developed markets.
