Bibliometric analysis of occupational safety and health management systems research between 2000 and 2025Contenido principal del artículo
Background: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a global priority, supported by organizational management systems designed to mitigate workplace hazards and promote safe working environments. Objective: This study aims to analyze the global scholarly production on OHS management systems during the 2000–2025 period, evaluating publication trends, geographic distribution, collaboration networks, and conceptual structures. Methodology: A quantitative bibliometric analysis was conducted on articles indexed in Scopus, processed using the Bibliometrix R-package. The study evaluated publication dynamics, leading countries, prominent journals, prolific authors, co-authorship networks, and thematic clusters. Results: The findings reveal sustained growth in research output since 2015, reaching a peak of 42 articles in 2025. The United States, Ukraine, and China are the leading countries in terms of production. The journal Safety Science concentrated 34 articles, while Zeng, S. emerged as the most prolific author with seven publications. Conceptual analysis identified three primary clusters: occupational health, risk prevention, and management systems. Conclusions: The research field of OHS management systems is undergoing progressive expansion, characterized by increasing internationalization and the consolidation of specialized journals as key dissemination channels. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening collaborative networks and adopting holistic approaches to guide future research and practical applications in OHS management.
